Help us bring healthcare Sweden together: invite your colleagues and earn rewards

Now launched and available on the App Store and Google Play.

Why BetweenShift

The shift is over. Your head came home with you anyway.

You know the feeling.

The thoughts that follow you home. Things you wish you could talk to someone about. Questions you keep turning over. A shift that stays with you longer than you’d like.

Sometimes you need to talk. Sometimes you just need to know you’re not the only one. Sometimes you want advice from someone with more experience. And sometimes you just want a clearer picture of how you’re actually doing.

BetweenShift is for all of it. Talk, read, ask, get advice, find a mentor, or just check in with yourself and follow how you and others are doing over time.

Another Facebook group? No. We think healthcare workers need something much bigger. A place for healthcare workers, by healthcare workers.

Between shifts, and everything in between.

Features

What's inside

  1. Daily check-in

    How are you, really?

A quick 30-second check-in after your shift. Say how the day felt and follow your mood over time. See which shifts take more than they give and which ones actually lift you.

  2. See how others in healthcare are doing

You’re not the only one who had a rough day.

Share your check-in anonymously in Today’s mood and see how colleagues across the country are doing right now. No names, just honest updates from healthcare. What you share stays visible for up to seven days.

  3. Mentor sessions

Talk to someone who gets it.

Book a conversation with an experienced healthcare worker. Talk about the job, life, the future, or whatever's on your mind. Not therapy. Not medical advice. Just a person to talk to.

  4. Community forums

Talk with people who get it.

Threads about everything from long shifts and parenting in healthcare to careers, colleagues, and everything in between. Share experiences, ask questions, or just scroll. Sometimes it's enough to know you're not the only one.

  5. Safe Space threads

Some things you want to say without putting your name on them.

In Safe Space threads, replies are anonymous. This is where you can bring up what feels hard, sensitive, or just a little too close to the job to sign your name to.

  6. Healthcare news

The biggest stories in healthcare, all in one place.

The News tab in your feed brings the biggest healthcare news together in one place. No more hunting across ten different sites: catch up on your break and keep track of what’s happening in healthcare.

Mentors

Talk to someone who’s been there

New to the job? New role? New responsibilities?
Or just worn down and looking for some perspective?

Our mentors are people with experience from healthcare who can share what they’ve learned along the way.

  • Ask whatever you want.
  • Talk through what’s nagging at you.
  • Talk about the things only someone from healthcare understands.

Not therapy. Not medical advice. Just conversation, experience, and someone who listens.

Want to be one of the people helping others forward, and get paid for your time while you’re at it?

About us

Healthcare is full of stories.

We thought they needed somewhere to go.

So who are we?

We’re two brothers, Arn and Adrian.
Adrian is an intensive care nurse. Arn is a game developer.
Two quite different professions, you might think. But we’ve always had more in common than our jobs suggest: curiosity, figuring things out, and a tendency to come up with ideas that take a little more work than we first imagined.
BetweenShift became one of those ideas.

We grew up in a family of eight siblings.

It was rarely quiet. And we learned early on to help each other out.
We’ve also seen firsthand, when our parents’ business went under, that life sometimes takes a different path than planned. That’s when you realise how much easier things become when you’re not on your own.
That feeling has stayed with us ever since. Now we’ve built it into an app.

We simply missed a place where healthcare workers can just be... people.

Where you can say the day was crap.
Or brilliant.
Or both at once.

Where you can tell someone what happened without being met with a blank:

“Oh wow, that’s rough.”

Because healthcare is full of things that are hard to explain to someone who hasn’t been there. The absurd, the beautiful, the hard, and that one shift you’d rather forget but still end up talking about on the next break. Sometimes it takes a major effort. Sometimes all it takes is someone who listens and understands exactly what you mean.

So we built a place for it.
To talk. Share. Laugh. Vent. Recognise yourself in someone else.
Not because we think we can fix healthcare. We’re happy to leave that job to someone else.

This is BetweenShift.
Welcome to the space between shifts
